Mental Health Act 2007
The Mental Health Act 2007 amends the Mental Health Act 1983 and comes in to effect in October 2008. NHS Dorset is required to implement these changes through its Mental Health Provider Services and a joint implementation group has been set up with Dorset County Council. NHS Dorset Provider Services will also work with a wider range of health and social care partners
Care Services Improvement Partnership (CSIP) who have been tasked by the department of health to
- Informed those involved of the proposed changes and impact
- Support implementation by service providers, directly and by signposting sources of information
- Providing opportunities to influence policy
